Cordova, Alaska is a small fishing community located in the South Eastern part of Prince William Sound. Close to the fishing grounds of the Copper River Flats, Gulf of Alaska and Prince William Sound- our population of 2,600 residents balloons in the summer to almost double as fishermen and processors come to town to take part in the fisheries.
Cordova is what is called "land locked," with no road to town- it is accessible by boat or plane. The Alaska Marine Highway ferry travels the sound connecting us to the road system, and Alaska Airlines flies into Cordova twice a day linking us to both and Anchorage and Seattle daily.
The northern most tip of what is known as coastal temperate rain forest, we receive over 140 inches of rain per year, with snow on top of that in the winter months. All that water is great for the fish that inhabit these rich waters.
